Lite Nite is a super exciting ALTERNATIVE to Halloween for ages 4-11 and their families.
Lite Nite is our biggest and brightest event of the year, and includes all of this...
+ Live band + Exciting games, quizzes & prizes + Showstopping performances + Hot dog supper & much more
No tricks, just treats
Lite Nite is aimed at ages 4-11, but we encourage accompanying family members to stay and enjoy the event.
For safety reasons, children attending Lite Nite on their own will need to be registered at the door by an adult. We'll take some basic details including the child's name, any allergies, and an emergency contact number. The adult and child will be given matching stickers to ensure safe collection at the end of the event.
Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the event is very busy, we may need to ask some of the adults to sit nearer the back, or in one of our overflow rooms.
Parents/carers bringing children under 4 years old will be directed to one of our overflow rooms where there's a live video link and space for pushchairs.
We don't admit visitors aged 12+ unless accompanying a child.
We held our 29th Lite Nite on 31st October 2019. Details of next year's event will be posted here in 2020.
Lite Nite essentials:
+ No fancy dress please
+ Doors open at 6:30pm + It's completely FREE and you don't need a ticket
One night only!
As a youth charity, we are deeply concerned about some of the themes that surround 31st October.
One of the most worrying trends in recent years is the sale of children's fancy dress costumes and accessories that depict graphic injuries and brutal violence including acts that should normally outrage and horrify us.
Lite Nite was founded in 1991 as an alternative to all the fear and horror of Halloween. Instead of death and darkness, we want to celebrate LIFE and LIGHT... so we throw our biggest and brightest party of the year to give families a choice. Over the last 28 years, we've proved just how much fun children can have when they ditch the dark outfits and party in the light.
Woodlea Mission is the home of Vision, and it's the perfect venue for children's events. We're just down the road from Waterfoot Primary School. There's a free car park on Millar Barn Lane, but we recommend leaving yourself extra time to park in case it's busy. Please don't park in front of houses on the street.
Keeping children safe is always our first priority, and we have an experienced Safety Team on hand to help make sure everyone enjoys the event.
Food & drinks
Soft drinks and hot dogs (including vegetarian option) are available for children at the end of the event. Please speak to our team if your child has a food allergy.
We're happy for children to bring their own bottled soft drinks and snacks in small packets. We don't allow hot food or drinks, energy drinks, or alcoholic drinks.
Lights & sound
If your child is sensitive to flashing lights or loud sounds, please speak to the Safety Team about our overflow rooms.
As with all our events, we reserve the right to refuse entry.
Photos & videos
This event is run by an experienced team of youth work volunteers who have undergone all necessary training and hold enhanced DBS certificates. Our Safety Team (wearing hi-vis jackets) are available all night if you have any concerns or questions about safety.
